As you all might know on February 6th a terrible earthquake hit Turkey, the death toll is over 50.000 people and 10 cities are affected by the disaster.

I came across this video showing an antique dealer in Antakya ( one of the worsts hit cities ). He opened his shop ( at least what is left from the shop ) and plays Pink Floyd form the speakers. Just one song can change the whole atmosphere even for couple of minutes.

Life can be unpredictable, and sometimes we are forced to confront terrible things or disasters that turn our world upside down. It’s easy to get lost in the pain and despair of these situations, but it’s important to remember that life should go on. We should continue to move forward, even if it’s with baby steps.

One of the most inspiring things about human beings is our resilience. Time and time again, we have seen people overcome incredible odds and achieve greatness despite terrible tragedies. Take Stephen Hawking, for example. He was diagnosed with motor neuron disease at the young age of 21 and was given only a few years to live. But he didn’t let his diagnosis stop him from pursuing his passion for physics. Instead, he continued to work and went on to become one of the most famous scientists of our time.

Another example is Malala Yousafzai, who was shot by the Taliban at the age of 15 for advocating for girls’ education in Pakistan. Instead of being silenced, she became an even stronger voice for the cause and went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize at just 17 years old.

These people, and so many others like them, show us that even when terrible things happen, we have a choice. We can either let the circumstances consume us, or we can rise above them and create something meaningful.

So, what can we learn from these inspiring individuals? First and foremost, we should never give up on our dreams. No matter how difficult life gets, there is always a way forward. We should also remember the power of perseverance. Success often comes after numerous failures and setbacks, but if we keep pushing forward, we can achieve great things.

Finally, we should remember to be kind to ourselves. It’s okay to take time to grieve and process our emotions. We should give ourselves the space and time we need to heal, but we should also remember that life is still happening around us, and we need to continue living it.

In conclusion, terrible things and disasters will happen, but life should go on. We can look to the examples of people like Stephen Hawking and Malala Yousafzai for inspiration, and remember the lessons they have taught us. So, let’s keep moving forward, one step at a time. And remember, even in the darkest of times, there is always a reason to smile.
