It’s that unpredictable junction where your paths cross with someone or something against all odds. Like, c’mon, finding the world’s most coveted Discs of Tron videogame at a garage sale right next to your childhood home? Sounds like the start of a Spielberg movie.

But hold on to your horses, because here’s the kicker: These moments, no matter how eerily fascinating, are purely, utterly, and most disappointingly — random. Yes, I said it. Random. The universe isn’t plotting; it’s simply playing dice.
